The Maroochydore State High School Cricket Academy offers students an opportunity to study cricket and its culture in a formal setting. The program will meet the student’s needs both from a cricketing as well as academic position. The is both a Junior (Year 9 and 10) course and a Senior (Year 11 and 12) Course.
High quality coaches equipped with the latest knowledge and skills, through strong links to Queensland Cricket and Cricket Australia, run the program.
The program is open to both male and female students across Queensland, predominately Sunshine Coast. An integral part of Cricket Australia’s future plans is the development of cricket for women. The notion that cricket is purely a man’s game has diminished over recent years, through the support of Cricket Australia, our national women’s team now sits alongside the Men’s team as world champions.
The program involves a strong partnership with Maroochydore Cricket Club using the top class facilities available at the Maroochydore Sports Complex. This will also serve as a pathway for Sunshine Coast Cricket and Queensland Cricket.

The local community is actively involved through links to feeder schools and junior cricket clubs through clinics and other support programs. Local businesses and corporate sponsors will be invited to participate and support the excellence program.
The Year 9/10 program encompasses many parts of the regular junior HPE program but Term 1 and Term 4 of each year are devoted to Cricket.
The Year 11/12 program is structured across a two-year period
