MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM IN AUSTRALIA |

Maroochydore SHS has won the award from the Beacon Foundation for the Most Outstanding Student Ambassador Program in Australia. The Beacon Foundation National Conference was held in Melbourne on the 7th & 8th May. Larney Bishop attended the conference and was very proud to bring the award home to the students.
With over 100 Beacon Schools across Australia, Maroochydore SHS Beacon Leaders came home the winners because of the leadership, team work, communication, and accountability that they showed throughout 2008.
This was the first year that the Leadership program was run at Maroochydore SHS, and the leaders really took hold of the challenges that were put forward to them.
They were involved in such things as:
- The Game of Life Day
- The Shine Youth Conference and
- The Polish Program
Larney would also like to thank Jade Leishman from the Beacon Foundation for all of the hard work she put into the program, and I look forward to working with Jade and the 2009 Beacon Student Ambassadors, who are already planning a Speed Careering Day and the Beacon No Dole Charter Singing! The 2008 leaders will be presented with a certificate on parade the 25th May. |
