Student services and support programs

Maroochydore State High School offers a wide range of services to improve the lives and educational outcomes for all students. Trained staff provide Individuals, small groups, classroom instruction and whole year levels with advice and support on a range of issues. As part of our team here on campus we have a Guidance Officer, School Based Youth Health Nurse, School Based Police Officer, Chaplain, Behaviour Support Consultant, Vocational Education Liaison Officer, Indigenous Liaison Officer and Youth Co-ordinator from IFYS. We also have extensive and varied networks with outside organisations. Our school Deputies, Heads of Year and staff are also a vital element in maintaining the holistic wellbeing of our students.

In terms of Pastoral Care, MSHS students participate in numerous activities that focus on four key areas; Happy Relationships, Healthy Body and Mind, School & Careers and Good Choices. While the range of activities students participate in across all year levels are too numerous to mention, some noteworthy events include; Motivational Media presentations, Drive safely initiatives including Docudrama and RYDA , police and nurse presentations on health and wellbeing topics, careers expo’s, anti-bullying drama pieces including ‘Say it to my Facebook’, CPR training and a variety of guest speakers from TAFE, Universities and the community.
